ARCHITECTURE / INTERIOR DESIGN
As part of the ongoing multi-year project for the Mandarin Oriental Lake Como, we have completely redesigned the hotel’s 52 suites, 21 guest rooms and public areas in Villa Roccabruna.
The studio restored the villa’s inlaid parquet floors, coffered ceilings and gilded boiserie before layering texture throughout, including Fortuny fabric lined panels, an 18th century inspired Italian Chinoiserie by Fromental, custom carpets from Luke Irwin, hand-laid terrazzo floors and Murano glass.
Furniture and lighting design speaks of the Italian postwar expansion of the 1950’s through to today, mixing vintage finds, bespoke pieces and contemporary classics by Marta Sala Editions. The end result is an interior imbued with elegant Italian modern sensibility and subtle oriental charm.
